I have examined the Accounts of the Gibson Library Society for the year ended 31st March 2024, and confirm that they are in accordance with the accounting rercords handed to me.
John Oswin Smith
Independent Examiner
Our Membership Income was up about 14% this year, and this with income from the Walden's Local use of some of our photos plus our share of the net income from Malcolm Turnbull's book results in a notably increase in our total Income.
We continue to allocate the money we receive from the Gibson Walden Fund towards rebinding, but we have not expended any of this year's or last year's money for the reasons the Chairman explained in his report, so we carry forward the accrual for payment next year.
Our largest expenditure this year was on the production of the new book on the Gibson Library, the income for which we hope to see in the 2024/25 Accounts.
I believe that the financial results of the year show the Society to be in a healthy state, and do not require any increase in Subscription rates.
Finally, I'd like to thank John Oswin Smith for again fulfilling the duties of Independent Examiner of the Annual Accounts.
