Thaxted Festival Display
To mark the occasion of the annual Thaxted Festival, we have put together a display on Thaxted and the Morris Dancing Tradition.
The festival dates back to 1916 when Gustav Holt first established the Whitsun Festivals in Thaxted Church. The festival “attracts the very best of British and international musicians, in genres ranging from orchestral, chamber and vocal music to jazz, folk, big-band and swing, from early music to contemporary styles.”
We also have an information booklet and reading list put together by one of our members. Pop by the Library to find out more about this tradition and to access more of our books about Thaxted.
